The second round of Speedway Grand Prix before us. On Saturday 11th of May the best speedway riders in the world are competing in Warsaw. The tournment on PGE Narodowy is going to be seen by fifty thousand spectators.
Stadion Narodowy in Warsaw – as it was the name of the object at the beginning – was built between 2008 and 2011. In 2012 it was one of the main arenas on which football European Championship were taking place. 58500 people can seat in the tribunes. In 2015 the name of the stadium changed into PGE Narodowy.
Last time the riders competed in Speedway Grand Prix tournment in Warsaw on Saturday 13th of May 2023. Martin Vaculik with eleven points got into semifinal. In this race he was third and he finished his performance in this competition.
The first tournment of Speedway Grand Prix took place 27th of April. The riders competed on the track in Gorican.
Martin Vaculik was tenth in this competition. The rider in his first run in Grand Prix of Croatia came on the last place to the finish line. He did not finish his second race because of a defect of his bike.
The situation was better in the next three races. Six points gave him tenth position in the competition. In Gorican the riders with eight points were in semifinals, so Vaculik needed two more points. Martin in Warsaw wants to perform better than in Gorican. The Slovakian in the last meeting of PGE Ekstraliga, got thirteen points for Gorzow. It seems that Vaculik is getting back into shape, as in previous season.
In 2023 SGP season he fought a bronze medal. To sum up the tournment on Saturday is going to be very exciting. The fans cannot wait the competition on the artificial track in Warsaw.
„I would like to make better in Warsaw than in Gorican. I hope to find the propper settings to the track and fight for good scores. After the last league match in Zielona Gora I am optimistic before Warsaw” – said Martin Vaculik.
